A Sleek little Companion
It’s been a while since the last post, this time around we are doing something a little different. We usually are reviewing some new software or service and breaking it down. This time around we are going to look at a device. Today’s device is the Lenovo ThinkSmart View. This little guy can help upgrade your home office. Let see what it can do and what’s inside of it.
The Lenovo ThinkSmart View is a personal productivity assistant. But what does that mean? The TLDR is that this guy can help alleviate some of the load from your workstation. For the past couple of months, we have all been working from home. This has led to online meetings to keep up productivity and keeping everyone on track. For some of us, those meetings are on Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, or Zoom. But it has introduced the problem of multiple applications and screens on all at the same time. Those of you with a laptop and at least one monitor has come to realize this issue. Having a meeting and looking at a secondary screen for some important documents and then snap back to the camera. With the ThinkSmart View, you can remove that problem and keep your eye contact with your colleagues. The nimble and convenient View can easily be placed between two monitors or a monitor and laptop. This allows you to run your meetings from the View and free your workstation and monitors for viewing important documents or taking notes.
Inside The Lenovo ThinkSmart View
Next, let’s talk about the security features of the ThinkSmart View and what’s inside. The ThinkSmart View is running Android 8.1 and is Microsoft Teams certified. This means you can feel at ease knowing that your data and connection to teams are protected. If you are worried that someone might take control of your camera or be listening in on you while you are not in a meeting there is no need to worry. Thanks to the View’s built-in Camera shutter and manual microphone mute you can be sure you are only heard and seen when you want to be. The ThinkSmart View struts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 624 processor, an 8-inch touch display, and a 5MP wide-angle camera capable of 720p. It also boasts a 10W full-range speaker, a dual array microphone, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities, and 8GB of storage and 2GB of RAM.
