If you haven’t heard of FireEye let me introduce them a bit. FireEye is a cybersecurity company that deals with the detection and prevention of cyber-attacks. They provide hardware, software, and services for investigating cyber-attacks and the protection and prevention of cyber-attack from malicious software. FireEye also offers a suite of products for analyzing IT security risks. Now that we have introduced who is FireEye and what they do let’s dive into what they offer and highlight two of their software’s.
FireEye Offers software that covers many different security needs. They have software that covers cloud, network, endpoint, and email security. FireEye offers a single platform interface in the form of their Helix Security platform which provides you with a single dash to review and manage threats. This single dashboard can also be used for behavioural analysis and integrate SOAR. The Helix platform is lightweight and can improve threat and vulnerability through SIEM, SOAR and UEBA as well and consolidate compliance reports. This Helix platform is not only for the management of other software but allows you to control your workflow and case management by setting collaborators and assigning tasks. FireEye Cloud Security
Next, we look at FireEye’s cloud security software. Before we jump into it would be prudent to mention the quote directly from the FireEye page from Gartner. “Through 2022, at least 95% of cloud security failures will be the customer’s fault”, This being the first time I have heard of this. But this is huge it means that through 2022 most cloud security breaches will because of a vulnerability missed. This just serves to emphasize the importance of cloud security. These vulnerabilities could come in many forms, but one would be missing the vulnerability of a cloud-connected application.
FireEye’s Cloudvisory software offers cloud security and management that delivers visibility into your cloud platform. Cloudvisory offers a high level of flexibility with easy integration to any of the major cloud service providers. It also you to apply policies and govern across many of your cloud environments such as Openstack and Kubernetes. FireEye Endpoint Security
Moreover, many organizations have other applications not just cloud-based ones so let look at FireEye Endpoint security. Endpoint security covers everything from desktops, workstations to smartphones and IoT devices. Which are all attack vectors for malicious software, especially as we see a rise in ransomware attacks that use phishing as a primary entry point. Now that is a lot of devices and application these devices use so let’s drill down a bit more.
Now, this is a lot of devices that all have different specification, OS, and configurations. FireEye Endpoint security brings you a cohesive single strategy to assist you in gain greater visibility into issues and their root causes. This software blocks common malware with a signature-based engine allowing it to address the more serious threats directly. It also helps stop advanced threats through a machine learning engine called MalwareGuard. Lastly, it halts the exploits of your applications with a behaviour analysis engine called ExploitGaurd. FireEye endpoint security provides robust malware protection as well as an antivirus, available on Windows, macOS, and various Linux distributions. To learn more click here.
